Practical arrangements, personal reflection and a clear conversation about risk come first. These notes draw on Justin’s preparation worksheet and the independent safety sources below.

The intake stays on this website and sends the information you choose to share to private storage for administrative review. Read its data-handling notice first. An inquiry does not confirm an appointment, establish eligibility or replace informed consent.
01 / BEFORE ANY SESSION
Screening comes first.
Talk with Justin about the practice, your questions, access needs and the option to decline. Discuss health conditions, medications, supplements, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any history of fainting, seizures, heart or kidney problems, diabetes or eating difficulties with a licensed healthcare professional before considering Kambo or fasting.
This is not a complete contraindication list. Screening and preparation cannot make Kambo risk-free. Do not stop, delay or change prescribed medication for a session.
02 / FOOD & FLUIDS
Fasting is not a safety measure.
This site does not recommend a Kambo fasting schedule. The sources below do not establish a fasting interval that makes Kambo safe. Do not begin a prolonged fast, dry fast or restrictive “detox” diet in preparation.
If asked to skip meals, first discuss the proposal with your licensed clinician, including any medicines that need food. Fasting while taking insulin or certain diabetes medicines can increase the risk of low blood glucose. Do not proceed if the proposed arrangements conflict with your medical advice.
03 / WATER & ELECTROLYTES
Avoid forced water intake.
Do not rapidly drink large volumes of water or follow a water-loading ritual. Severe low blood sodium (hyponatremia), including seizures, has been reported after Kambo. Excessive water intake is one reported risk; Kambo can also affect the body’s water regulation.
Do not use a generic water quantity, salt supplement or electrolyte drink as a safety guarantee. Ask your clinician about any individual food or fluid restrictions. A preparation sheet is not medical clearance.
04 / PRACTICAL ARRANGEMENTS
Keep the day simple.
Confirm the time, setting, accessibility needs, support arrangements and what happens if you feel unwell. Justin’s packing suggestions include loose, comfortable clothing, a change of clothes, a blanket or sweatshirt, a pillow and an optional meaningful personal object.
Bring prescribed rescue medication if your clinician directs it. Ask about food for afterward rather than assuming fasting is required. Do not attend intoxicated; discuss alcohol or substance use and any concerns beforehand.
05 / INTENTION & PRACTICES
Reflection without expectation.
Optional journaling prompts: What matters to me now? What would I like to explore? What are my boundaries? What support would I like? A personally meaningful intention does not determine an outcome.
For breath awareness, breathe gently and comfortably without forcing the breath. Meditation, movement and spiritual reflection are optional practices in their own right, not instructions to combine them with Kambo. Discuss suitability separately; pause any practice that causes discomfort.
06 / AFTERWARD
Leave room for support.
Allow time to rest and arrange help or transport if needed. Follow your clinician’s medication and wound-care advice. Journaling the next day or later in the week can focus on what you noticed, what support you need and one manageable action you choose. No particular insight or benefit is promised.
Do not interpret severe or persistent symptoms as cleansing or spiritual progress. For seizures, confusion, collapse, trouble breathing or another urgent medical situation, call 911. In the U.S., Poison Control is available at 1-800-222-1222.
